    In this composition, it has been tested how the supply of different quantities of nitrates of potassium, calcium, copper, and aluminium influences the inhibition and moistening of peat according to the degree of its dryness. The results achieved indicate that the drying of peat mass greatly deteriorates its capacity for moistening and inhibition. However, it is possible to hinder this process remarkably by adding to that mass certain quantities of suitable inorganic comninations. Among the salts tested in the work in question, the greatest influence on the inhibition of the dried peat mass has been obtained by adding nitrates of copper and calcium, while the best moistening has been achieved by adding nitrate of potassium.
