Abstract
Stipa borysthenica is a protected, vulnerable species which appears in a sandy dry
grasslands. In Poland it is known from a few stands in the margin zone of the Lower Odra
Valley. In 2006 a locality of this species was found in the vinicity of Dolna Odra power station
near Gryfino (Western Pomerania, Poland). Stipa borysthenica occurs here in the Spergulo
vernalis-Corynephoretum community. The increasing of tufts number from 29 in 2006 to 41 in
2010 indicates good condition of Stipa population. Devastation by people is the biggest threat to
population of Stipa borysthenica.
