Osobliwe oczko wodne na Pojezierzu Południowo-Ełckim
Abstract
The small pond (1.3 ha) in the moraine landscape of Pojezierze Ełckie is
characteristic for its natural values, especially floral diversity, indicating the existence of various
habitats in the same area. They are: the calciphilous charas community Charetum fragilis,
representing EU Habitat Directive oligotrophic and mezotrophic water containers with
underwater Chara meadows (code 3140), eutrophic waterlilies Nupharo-Nymphaeetum
community and water milfoil community Myriophylletum spicati – representing old river-bed and
natural eutrophic water containers with associations from Nymphaeion and Potamion (code
3150). Worth mentioning is also mezotrophic the north water lily community Nymphaeetum
candidae, which is under strict protection. In the neighbourhood there are patches of riverside
carr Circaeo-Alnetum (code 91EO) and Ficaro-Ulmetum (code 91FO) forests. There are also
found other protected animal species. The map of objects’ vegetation with marked sites is
presented. The analysis of phytocenoses’ distribution shows, that fertile habitats are connected
to eutrophication caused by water flowing down from the crop fields, threatening nature
mezotrophic habitats.
