Abstract
The aim of this study was an attempt to determine the influence of PGRs – auxins,
cytokinins and gibberelic acid – on the propagation and callus tissue of sweet basil (Ocimum
basilicum L.). The best result at the propagation stage were obtained on MS medium
supplemented with 1.0 mg · dm–3 BAP with 0.1 mg · dm–3 GA3. The basilicum plants propagated
under these conditions developed high main shoots and large number of shoots in comparison
to control. The leaves with the best callus weight were regenerated on MS medium supplemented
with 1.0 mg · dm–3 2,4-D and 0.5 mg · dm–3 BAP.
