Zakaład doświadczalny BankowiceThree experiments have been conducted: the one of laboratory type and two others of scientific-economical character. In these experiments the possibilities of the part replacement of concentrated foods with urea and ammonium sulphate (about 30 percent of protein demand in animals) were studied The one year old ewes of the Polish Merino breed were used as the experiment material. The introduction of urea and ammonium sulphate to food rations influenced positively on their digestibility. Such a feeding mode may be regarded economically too; it lets namely to save serious lots of expensive concentrated foods in winter period (about 27 kg per head). The not important differences negative to experimental groups in live weight and in wool production increasings were stated and statistically they appeared not significant. The length and thickness of wool fibres did not differ the experimental ewes and the control ones.
