This anthropogenic ecosystem is distinguished by well-developed forest and scrub vegetation. The most valuable natural habitats, and also the best developed are patches of riparian vegetation, especially alluvial poplar and ash forests - the priority habitats protected in the European Union. Anthropogenic origin of the island contributed to the development of synanthropic flora and few taxa under legal protection. Planned in future resumption of sandy sediment storage requires a diagnosis of the current state of vegetation of this anthropogenic island, an indication the most valuable natural habitats as well as emphasises the changes which have occurred in the last 30 years in this area, since discontinued its use.plUznanie autorstwa-Użycie niekomercyjne 3.0 Polskasiedliska przyrodnicze Natura 2000składowanie refulatów piaszczystychwyspa ChełminekChelminek IslandNatura 2000 habitatssandy silt storageDyscyplina::Nauki rolniczeCharakterystyka wybranych elementów środowiska przyrodniczego wyspy Chełminek.
