In attempts of overlayers to determine the content of Corg and Ntot. Humic substances (HS) were extracted with a solution of 0.1 M NaOH. As a measure of organic matter content in the obtained extracts were Corg content in them. Photoinduced luminescence (FL) of humic substances was induced with a halogen light of 1000 to 5000 [µmol ⋅ m–2 ⋅ s–1] photon flux density. The FL intensity was recorded within the wavelength range of 400 to 600 nm, and within the time range of 0.15 s to 0.55 s after excitation. It was found that the components included in the overlayers of respondents have a significant impact on their content of organic matter. Also obtained significant differences in the values of intensity of photoinduced luminescence of studied SH.
